When designing the Ketamine therapy rooms at Shrink Savannah, owner Chad Brock, MD worked with Amber Scott, interior designer and color specialist. Ms. Scott conducted research, learning about Ketamine therapy, patient expectations and studied the lighting in the building to achieve the ideal look and feel of a serene, welcoming and safe environment.

In her own words, Amber Scott of Amber Scott Design in Savannah, GA describes the process she used to help us create the ideal patient experience.

"The most exciting point in the design process for the Shrink Savannah office was learning about the treatment process with Ketamine therapy. In order to design the space precisely to a patient’s needs during an infusion, we took a poll with patients who regularly have Ketamine infusions.

The insights lead to making the rooms completely controlled using a patient’s voice. Alexa integration allows them to control their experience with lighting and sound. This is important during ketamine therapy as individual experiences with the senses vary and can affect the success of the treatment.

We also found that most patients stated they wanted a blue or green color on the walls, or the sense of a spa. The color chosen can go green, blue, or even feel slightly gray at times depending on the light. Black-out shades were installed to prevent disruptions caused by shadows from the outside.

Last, each room has a reclining chair for comfort during the infusion. A side chair and desk are available if a patient would like to bring someone to join them."
